Back in 1983 you would pay $217 for a Commodore 64 at K-Mart, today the portable version is lowered by more than $200!
As a special celebration we´re now trimming an extra $2 off the price for the next few days.

This was the price of a C64 in 1983 - thanks to Mike for the image!
We want to use the occasion to once again thank all of you out there who have constantly supported us and patiently waiting for the new games!
Version 1.2 is almost ready for submission, with both free and paid games coming to an iDevice near you! We´ve got a tip on
twitter about the game
"Laser Squad" and it will of course be available as a free download together with
Bruce Lee in the next update.
Happy Thanksgiving!

We’ve submitted a minor update for Flashback in addition to a LITE version that allows you to play all the way though the first level. We want to thank everyone for the reviews and the constructive feedback - we’ve certainly been listening. Anything we’ve missed for 1.2 we’ll try to put into a 1.3 update.
Flashback Player for iPhone 1.2 will add
- Confirmation when overwriting an existing save game
- Ability to enter level access codes
For those of you who choose to upgrade to the full version, you’ll be able to transfer your save games from the LITE edition and continue where you left off. Therefore, don’t delete the LITE version until you’ve transferred those save games. Bring up the control menu in the LITE edition, and tap button labelled ‘Transfer Games’ above the save games list. If you’ve purchased and installed the full version, it will automatically launch with your save games transferred. The process will overwrite any existing slots, so only do it once!
For those that are interested, the level-access passwords are:

iPhone GamesNetwork posted a great review of Flashback v1.1 and really highlights the whole reason we brought this classic game to the iPhone:
Flashback makes for a perfect mix of different game elements. It is platformer where timing jumps is important, it is a puzzler where you have to plan and backtrack to progress, and it is a shooter where you have to eliminate aliens. The blend is perfect, and probably the main reason why Flashback still feels fresh.

Tom from iphoneotaku.com mailed us and asked about the 1.1 update, and we decided to get some early feedback from one of the “critics” out there.
You can look at the 1.1 review here: www.iphoneotaku.com
Tnx to Tom!

Flashback 1.1 has been handed to the powers that be, and we’re confident it’s a big improvement over the 1.0 release. We spent a lot of time gathering your feedback from every corner of the web, be it forums, twitter, blogs, reviews, comments and the rest, which is classified.
In summary, the 1.1 update includes the following enhancements:
- Full Screen Mode (stretched 3:2 ratio)
- Revised and significantly improved controls. Full screen is great, but even the ‘game in a shell in a phone’ mode has improvements
- Detailed in-game help - you’ll find this in the slide-out panel under the ‘Help’ tab.
- Help overlay for controls - when you tap the ITEMS button, a [HELP] button appears to get quick help
- Auto-rotate for left / right landscape (for Touch users, as some asked that it work both ways)
- Restart game - again found in the slide-out panel
and bug fixes
- Fixed the job details issue on Level 2
Obligatory screen shots

The ITEMS target area is much bigger than the image, so it is not difficult to hit.

Wow! - Thanks a lot for ALL the inputs you mailed us - you have been so helpful!
This is what seems to be the final 1.1 layout for controls - we have changed the current view to be more simple, with bigger buttons and moved “ITEMS” out next to the “items icon”.

And then we have made a totally new view for fullscreen playing, and I have to say it really feels nice. The controls is maintained in the same positions but more simple and transparent (not in this example as it´s for illustration).

And finally we´ve added a “HELP” that shows new users what the different buttons will do. (A real help has found it´s way too in the menu).

Stuart will drop a post later on what other features we got into the 1.1 build, and what we´re planning for next 1.2 - and again…keep it coming

Discussion on the proposed Flashback for iPhone in 1.1 update.
Firstly, we want to thank everyone who has downloaded Flashback. We’ve gathered your feedback from Twitter, gaming forums, news articles, iTunes comments, blogs posts, even googling. Rest assured, we’re listening.
Clearly it’s usability, so here is what we’re proposing based on your feedback:
- 3:2 full screen, and therefore the game will be stretched a little
- Bigger ‘Fire’ button, which will be renamed to ‘A’
- Resolve job issue
- Help, and on-screen guide explaining controls
- Restart
- left/right support in full screen

Take a look at more screendumps and feel free to comment!
We’ll also use this as a learning experience for our future titles.

Flashback was finally approved and it´s ready for download on the App Store!
We’re scouring forums, twitter, blogs and the App Store for your comments. It is clear the controls are our top priority for a 1.1 update. We’re on twitter, so feel free to stop by and let us know your thoughts. All your input is valuable and we want to make this a port to remember!
Enjoy!

We´ve submitted our first application, Flashback Interpreter in order to bring Flashback: The Quest for Identity to your iPhone or iPod Touch. Flashback, an award winning cyberpunk action-adventure was originally released for the Amiga in 1992 and ported to MS-DOS, Acorn Archimedes, Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and Super Nintendo in 1993.
The Flashback Interpreter is based on the fabulous REminiscence v0.1.9 engine by Gregory Montoir.
